SUPERIOR -- The Lake Superior Sea Dogs defeated the Grand View Tigers, 26-3, in an Upper 13 League game at Morrie Arnovich Field on Sunday. The game was called in the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule.

Lake Superior scored nine runs on eight hits in the first inning en route to setting club records for hits, 27, and RBI, 22, and tying the club record of 26 runs.

Blake Imhoff and Cameron Pietrusa had five hits and four runs each. Eric Hinnenkamp had four hits with a home run and seven RBI. Taavi Mattson and Alex Busick had three hits apiece. Busick hit a home run and had five RBI.

Winning pitcher Brock McDermid (1-0, 3.60 ERA) tossed three shutout innings in relief of starter Jake Lewis. McDermid allowed four hits and one walk and had two strikeouts. Lewis allowed two hits and zero walks with five strikeouts in three innings.

Grand View broke up the shutout in the seventh on three hits and two Sea Dogs errors.

Grand View was led by Jameson Hecimovich with three hits and Taylor Sechen with two.

Losing pitcher Mike Taylor allowed nine runs on eight hits and two hit batsmen in two-thirds of an inning. He had one strikeout.

The Sea Dogs are now 4-2 in the Upper 13 League (4-3 overall). Grand View drops to 0-7 in the Upper 13 League.
