ASHLAND -- The Lake Superior Sea Dogs defeated the Ashland Merchants, 13-3, in an Upper 13 League amateur baseball game here on Sunday. The game was called after eight innings due to the 10-run rule.
Alex Busick was 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI, Conner Bushbaum was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI, and Corbin Taylor was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Lake Superior.
Winning pitcher Kennan Reyelts pitched seven innings and allowed three runs on eight hits and four walks with eight strikeouts. Anthony Bush pitched a scoreless eighth to preserve the 10-run lead.
Jeremy Snow and Bobby Tyndall had two hits apiece for Ashland.
Lake Superior is now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league games. The Sea Dogs travel to Hibbing for a non-league tilt on Saturday, June 18, before hosting the Tony Hayshakers in a league game on Sunday, June 19, at Morrie Arnovich Field in Superior.
