SUPERIOR -- The Lake Superior Sea Dogs concluded their regular season with a 17-0 win over the Washburn Sharptails in an Upper 13 League game at Morrie Arnovich Field on Sunday. The game was called in the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule.

Jake Lewis (4-0 W-L, 2.12 ERA) tossed a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and two walks. He surpassed Anthony Bush for the most wins in club history. Lewis is now 28-16 in his career, which began in 2011.

All nine batters for Lake Superior talled in the runs, hits, and RBI columns.

Matt Johnson got the scoring going with a two-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the second inning. It was the second of six consecutive hits that led to a 7-0 lead by inning's end.

Johnson scored on an RBI single by Conner Fonger. Fonger scored from first on an RBI single by Ben Rhodes. Rhodes scored on an RBI triple by Gunnar Hansen. Hansen scored on a two-run home run by Justin Sedin.

Fonger led off the fourth with a home run. Then, with two outs, the Sea Dogs rattled off five straight hits for a five-run inning. After singles by Sedin and Isaac Fugere, Austin Parrott delivered an RBI single, Kevin Hendrickx hit a two-run double, and Jacob Becks knocked an RBI single.

The Sea Dogs plated five runs in the fifth on five hits, two walks, and two Washburn errors. Rhodes, Fugere, Parrott, and Becks had RBI hits.

Fonger and Becks had three hits apiece. Fonger and Sedin had three runs each.

The Sea Dogs finished the regular season with a 7-2 record, good for second place in the Upper 13 League.
