GLIDDEN -- The Glidden Orioles defeated the Lake Superior Sea Dogs, 5-1, in an Upper 13 League baseball game here on Sunday. Winning pitcher Brett Hulmer went the distance; he allowed one run on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts.

John Sechen's RBI single in the seventh broke a 1-1 tie that had held since the third inning.

Glidden's three-run eighth was capped by Jackson Bonneville's two-run single.

Lake Superior's Bryce Huffman hit an RBI double to tie the score in the third and the Sea Dogs' Seth Anderson (two-for-two) was the only player from either team to register more than one hit.

Losing pitcher Jake Lewis allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and five walks in seven innings pitched. He had eight strikeouts.

Lake Superior threatened in the top of the ninth by loading the bases with two outs, but Hulmer induced a ground out to end the contest.

Glidden is now 3-2 in league play and Lake Superior finishes the abbreviated 2020 league schedule with a 4-2 record.
