TONY, Wis. -- Dakota Herrmann and B. Strenke combined on a two-hit shutout as the Tony Hayshakers defeated the Lake Superior Sea Dogs, 3-0, in an Upper 13 League baseball game here on Sunday. Herrmann tossed eight innings for the win. He allowed two hits and one hit batsman while striking out five. Strenke allowed two walks in the ninth but preserved the shutout for the save.

Chase Groothousen's RBI double plated Nate Roach for a run in the seventh. Carter Verdegen hit an two-run single in the eighth.

Groothousen was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Herrmann was 2-for-4 with a run. Peter Atiemo and Nick Baker had the Sea Dogs' hits.

Losing pitcher Seth Anderson pitched two innings in relief of starter Jake Lewis. Anderson allowed three runs--two earned--on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Lewis did not allow a run in six innings. He had 11 strikeouts and allowed four hits, two walks, and a hit batsman. 

It was the first game of the season for the Sea Dogs; Tony is 1-1.
