WASHBURN -- Leading 3-2, Lake Superior scored eight runs in the sixth inning and six runs in the eighth to win an Upper 13 League baseball game called after eight innings due to the 10-run rule.

Winning pitcher Seth Anderson went the distance, allowing one earned run on nine hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.

For the Sea Dogs, Kevin Hendrickx was 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, Cooper Grashorn was 2-for-6 with a run and two RBI, Peter Atiemo was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and two RBI, Andy Kaptonak was 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, Beau Tevis was 2-for-5 with two runs, and Jacob Becks added two RBI. The Sea Dogs pounded out 16 hits.

For Washburn, Alex Elliot was 2-for-4 with a home run, and Blaise Sopiwnik was 2-for-4. 

Adrian Bethel picked up the loss. He allowed seven earned runs on seven hits and four walks with five strikeouts in five and one-third innings.

Lake Superior is 2-0 and Washburn is 1-2.
