PROCTOR -- The Lake Superior Sea Dogs swept an Upper 13 League doubleheader at Proctor on Sunday, July 7.
 
The first game remained scoreless through regulation and it took four extra innings for either team to score. Lake Superior plated four runs in the top of the eleventh inning for a 4-0 lead. Twin Ports scored a run and had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the eleventh.
 
Winning pitcher Jake Lewis allowed one run on six hits and two walks with 14 strikeouts in 10 and 1/3 innings. Jesse Olson retired the two batters he faced in the eleventh for the save.
 
For Lake Superior, Bryce Huffman was 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run, and Seth Anderson was 2-for-5. Peter Atimeo and Andy Kaptonak contributed RBI hits in the 11th.
 
Jon Kusch picked up the loss. He allowed three earned runs on nine hits and three walks with six strikeouts in nine innings of relief.
 
Nick Allen was 3-for-5 and Jared Thomas was 2-for-5 for Twin Ports.
 
In the second game, winning pitcher Anderson allowed zero earned runs in a seven-inning complete game. He allowed four hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
 
Mike Karp was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, and an RBI, Huffman was 2-for-2 with a double, a run, and an RBI, and Anderson batted 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead the Sea Dogs.
 
Losing pitcher Zane Peterson allowed five runs on eight hits and one walk with one strikeout in five innings.
 
Lake Superior improves to 4-1 in the Upper 13 League while Twin Ports is now 3-3 in league play.
