SUPERIOR -- Peter Atiemo's single with one out in the tenth plated Michael Karp from second base and gave the Lake Superior Sea Dogs a walk-off win against the Washburn Lumberjacks in an Upper 13 League baseball game at Morrie Arnovich Field on Sunday.

Washburn's Blaise Sopiwnik scored a run in the top of the ninth on an error on a double-steal play to tie the score.

Karp earned the win with four innings in relief of starter Seth Anderson. Karp allowed one unearned run on three hits and three walks. He had six strikeouts. Anderson allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

Karp, Atiemo, and Kevin Hendrickx each collected three hits for Lake Superior. Anderson and Atiemo had two RBI each, while Hendrickx, Karp, and Kyle Bellin had two runs scored apiece.

Ben Merrill had three hits, including a triple, for Washburn. Blaise Sopiwnik had two hits, a run, and an RBI, and Scott Moreland scored two runs for the Lumberjacks.

Losing pitcher John Sopiwnik allowed four earned runs on 12 hits and one walk in nine and a third innings. He had eight strikeouts.

Lake Superior is now 5-2 in league play while Washburn is 3-5.
