MELLEN -- The Lake Superior Sea Dogs defeated the Iron City Miners in an Upper 13 League baseball game here on Sunday.
Winning pitcher Jesse Olson tossed six and one-third innings and allowed three earned runs on 10 hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Seth Anderson picked up the save by pitching two and two-thirds innings. He allowed zero hits, two walks, and a hit batsman while striking out two. With the score 7-4, Anderson relieved Olson with the bases loaded and one out in the seventh. The inning ended on a double play after one pitch.
Will Lee paced the Miners with three hits. Sam Lehman, Jim Warren, and Joe Weiner had two hits apiece for Iron City. Lehman scored two runs.
Lake Superior is now 6-2 in league play. Iron City is 3-5.
