ASHLAND -- Ashland took an Upper 13 League amateur baseball game from Lake Superior, 6-1, at James Pufall Field on Sunday.

Winning pitcher Bob Tyndall worked all nine innings and allowed one run on six hits and four walks with one hit batsman and 12 strikeouts.

Ashland went ahead 1-0 on Frank Pufall's RBI single that scored Taylor Stibbe in the second inning. Kyle Bosquez's solo home run in the third made it 2-0.

Kevin Hendrickx scored on Conor Wollenzien's RBI single in the fifth to cut the lead to 2-1.

Ashland plated four runs in the eighth on three hits and four Sea Dogs errors.

Bosquez led all hitters by batting 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, and two RBI.

Losing pitcher Jake Lewis allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts in five innings.

Ashland and Lake Superior are now tied for first place in the Upper 13 League's North Division, at 5-1, respectively, in league play. Lake Superior is now 6-3 overall.

In other Upper 13 League action, the Tony Hayshakers defeated the Mellen Rockies, 14-4, to remain the only undefeated team in the league. The Hayshakers now lead the South Division with a 5-0 record in league play (9-2 overall).
