SUPERIOR -- The Lake Superior Sea Dogs defeated the Park Falls Cardinals, 4-2, in an Upper 13 League amateur baseball game at Morrie Arnovich Field on Sunday.

Winning pitcher Peter Lenz allowed four hits and two walks in six shutout innings. He had three strikeouts. Seth Anderson picked up the save with three innings of relief pitching. Anderson allowed two runs, both unearned, on one hit and one hit batsman. He had five strikeouts.

Caleb Armstrong went the distance for the Cardinals. He allowed four runs (three earned) on two hits and seven walks with 11 strikeouts in eight innings.

Conor Wollenzien's three-run double with two outs in the second inning gave the Sea Dogs a 3-0 lead. The hit scored Michael Karp (hit by pitch), Kevin Hendrickx (walk), and Jake Malec (walk). Lake Superior scored its fourth run in the third inning when Eric Pearson, who reached on an error to lead off the inning, scored on a double-play grounder by Karp.

Park Falls plated two runs in the eighth on an error and a wild pitch.

Wollenzien batted 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI and Malec was 1-for-2 with a run for Lake Superior.

Christian Armstrong batted 1-for-4 with a run and Will Lee was 1-for-3 with a run to lead Park Falls.
