Jake Lewis threw a two-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts as the Padres won the first game of the Upper 13 League doubleheader. Lewis carried a no-hitter through four-and-two-thirds innings. He did not issue any walks.
Matt Chruscielski was 2-for-3 for Duluth, the only Padres player to get a hit. Chruscielski hit an RBI single in the first inning scoring Nick Moran. Harley Hazel also scored in the first inning, on a passed ball.
