ASHLAND -- Frank Pufall's sacrifice fly scored Mike Groom for the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth as Ashland erased a 3-2 deficit with two runs in the sixth to win the second game of the doubleheader, 4-3.
Bennett earned the win in relief of starter Josh Carlson. Bennett pitched two and one-third shutout innings; he allowed one hit and three walks. Carlson pitched four and two-thirds. He allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks.
Groom had two hits for Ashland, and Seeger hit a two-run double to give Ashland a 2-1 lead in the first inning.
Anthony Bush (1-1 W-L, 1.38 ERA) was tagged with the loss in relief of starter Kevin Hendrickx. Bush allowed two unearned runs in one and one-third innings, on two hits and no walks. Hendricks worked four and two-thirds innings and allowed two runs on six hits and three walks.
Corey Verhel, Jimmy Merling, Trenton Moe, and Bob Baxton each had two hits, and Peyton Flanders hit a home run for the Dukes.
Ashland is now 8-2 in the Upper 13 League. Duluth-Superior is 6-3 in league play and 8-10 overall.
