PARK FALLS, Wis. -- Grant DeMars hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie that lifted the Washburn Lumberjacks over the Duluth-Superior Dukes, 4-2, in a seven-inning non-league amateur baseball game at Park Falls on Saturday. DeMars was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Winning pitcher Dave Barningham allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks in seven innings. He had four strikeouts.
Jake Lewis (2-2 W-L, 3.00 ERA) was the losing pitcher. He allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts in six innings. Travis Bartlett was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Dukes.
