HERMANTOWN -- The Superior Lakers defeated the Proctor Padres in an Upper 13 League baseball game at Don Fichtner Memorial Field. Superior scored five runs in the third inning on two hits, three walks, a hit batsman, and one error. They added two runs in the fourth inning on one hit, two walks, two errors, and a sacrifice fly.

Kevin Schubert (2-1, 4.97 ERA, 12.2 IP) picked up the loss. He allowed five earned runs on four hits, six walks, and two hit batsmen in five innings pitched. Bob Baxton pitched two innings of scoreless relief on one hit and two walks with three strikeouts, and Noah Hobbs pitched a scoreless eighth inning with one strikeout.

Proctor was held to two hits. Baxton broke up a no-hitter with a single to lead off the sixth inning, and Corey Pavlich singled to lead off the ninth inning.
