DULUTH -- The Duluth Xpress defeated the Proctor Padres in a non-league baseball game at Ordean Field on Thursday evening. The game was shortened to seven innings due to the 10-run rule.

Proctor's starting pitcher James Ostrander took the loss. He pitched three innings and allowed five earned runs on six hits, two walks and one hit batsman. Duluth scored six unearned runs in the fourth inning. Relief pitchers Corey Pavlich and Ben Crawford combined to limit Duluth to no runs on one hit for the last two and one-third innings. Crawford made his Padres debut.

Ostrander had two of Proctor's six hits.

The Padres travel to Hayward to take on the Hawks in a non-league game on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.  The game will take place during the city of Hayward's Muskie Fest.
