PROCTOR -- Port Wing defeated Proctor in an Upper 13 League baseball game. The Boilers scored three runs in the first inning on two hits and two errors. Port Wing's Eric Jardine connected for a two-run home run in the inning. Port Wing added another run in the second inning when a pair of walks and a passed ball set up a run-scoring double play.

Proctor scored a run in the second when Dan Solarz led off with a single, stole second base, advanced to third on a passed ball, and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Bryan Darst.

Proctor scored another run in the third inning when Scott Lustig singled and scored from first on a hit-and-run double by Corey Pavlich.

Port Wing added to their lead with two runs in the fourth inning on two hits and one error. Kyle Hall, the Padres' 2008 co-Cy Young Award winner, was making his first appearance of the 2009 season. He allowed two earned runs on four hits and three walks and had five strikeouts in four innings. He left the game with the Padres behind 6-3.

Proctor managed one run in the sixth inning. Mike Gerard walked, advanced to second on a single by Ian Scherber, advanced to third on an error and scored on an RBI single by Lustig.

Anthony Bush pitched five innings of near-perfect work in relief of Hall, allowing one batter to reach on an error in the fifth inning. Bush had six strikeouts.

Corey Pavlich had four hits for Proctor.  Lustig and Solarz had two hits each.  Proctor out-hit Port Wing 12-4.

Tyler Pionk made his Padres' debut. He singled in his first at bat.

Port Wing improves to 1-3 and Proctor falls to 0-5 in Upper 13 League play.
