SOLON SPRINGS, Wis. -- The St. Croix Ravens defeated the Proctor Padres in a nine-inning non-league baseball game today. St. Croix's Bub Visger served as the Proctor catcher as the team is still waiting for some of its members to finish school.  St. Croix's Chris Vendela was in command on the mound, striking out 21 Padres hitters and only allowing two hits and two hit batsmen. Visger and Mike Gerard connected for back-to-back singles in the third inning for Proctor's lone threat. Vendela retired the side via strikeout for all nine outs of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. He recorded three strikeouts in five of the nine innings. Proctor's starting pitcher Anthony Bush took the loss. He pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs on seven hits and four walks. Vinny Viggiano had two hits for St. Croix. It was the third game of the season for both teams. St. Croix improves to 1-2 and Proctor falls to 0-3. Proctor travels to Brill, Wis., on Sunday for another non-league game.
