Game 2 -- Sat., Aug. 23 -- "Iron City Merchants" 10, Proctor 0
The Proctor Padres lost on Saturday to a mix-'n'-match team consisting of players from four different teams in their second baseball game of the Casey Gazdik Memorial Tournament in Solon Springs, Wis. The "Iron City Merchants," a combination of the Iron City Miners and the Ashland Merchants, used thinly-veiled aliases. Bayside's Bob Eastman appeared as "Eddie" Eastman, and Superior's Nick Garramone appeared as "Rocko" Garramone. Nick Koubsky doubled in the first inning for Proctor's lone hit. Koubsky took the loss. He allowed four earned runs on nine hits and two walks in three innings pitched. "Antonio" Clark had two hits and three RBI for the Merchants. The game was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule.
