HINCKLEY, Minn. -- Winning pitcher Truett Kroschel went all nine innings as Hinckley defeated Duluth in a non-league amateur baseball game at Brennan Field in Hinckley. Kroschel allowed two earned runs on 11 hits and one walk with nine strikeouts.
 
Ryan Ausmus led Hinckley with three hits and two RBIs. Alex Hagman, Kayle Lewellen, Kevin McFerren, RJ Keur, and David Lovly each had two hits for the Knights (1-1). Keur had two RBIs.
 
Eli Tintor had three hits and Jimmy Merling and Tim Nylund had two hits apiece for Duluth (1-1). Reliever Matt Chruscielski picked up the loss. He allowed three runs on six hits and no walks with one strikeout in two-and-two-thirds innings. Starter Jack Nikko allowed two earned runs in five-and-one-third innings on nine hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
