ASHLAND -- The Duluth Dukes won the second game of the Upper 13 League doubleheader, 3-2, at James Pufall Field in Ashland.

Duluth's Corey Pavlich delivered a two-run go-ahead single in the fourth inning that put the Dukes up 3-2. It was Pavlich's 100th career hit in amateur baseball. He is the Dukes' (formerly Padres) all-time hits leader.

Winning pitcher Jack Nikko worked six complete innings and allowed one earned run on eight hits, three walks, and one hit batsman. Matt Dolsen pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the save. He relieved Nikko with two runners on base and no outs in the seventh.

Ashland's Frank Pufall had three hits, and Tyler Martin and Bob Tyndall had two apiece for the Merchants.

Duluth is now 4-1 in the Upper 13 League and 6-10 overall. Ashland is now 7-2 in the Upper 13.
