PORT WING, Wis. -- The Duluth Dukes took the second game of the Upper 13 League doubleheader, 13-3, at Anderson-Samuelson Field in Port Wing. The game was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Duluth's Jake Lewis allowed one earned run on six hits, one walk, and one hit batsman for the complete game win. He had six strikeouts.
Jimmy Merling and Travis Bartlett led Duluth. Merling was 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Bartlett was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Port Wing's John Tribys was 3-for-3 with two RBI. Losing pitcher Blake Reijo worked four innings and allowed nine earned runs on 11 hits and four walks. He had one strikeout.
With the two wins, Duluth improved to 3-0 in the Upper 13 League, and 5-8 overall. Port Wing dropped to 3-5 in the Upper 13 League.
